Disaster Services
Red Cross disaster relief focuses on meeting people's immediate emergency disaster-caused needs.
When a disaster threatens or strikes, the Red Cross provides shelter, food, and health/mental health services to address basic human needs.
In addition to these services, Red Cross disaster relief assistance is given to individuals and families affected by disasters to enable them to resume their normal daily activities. The Red Cross feeds disaster victims and emergency workers, handles inquiries from concerned family members outside the disaster area, and helps those affected by the disaster to access other available resources.
Your South Texas Chapter maintains a Disaster Action Team available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to respond to disasters. Each year, we assist victims of more than 270 home fires and other disasters. All Red Cross assistance is given free of charge, made possible by the generous contribution of people's time, money, and skills.
If you need disaster related assistance, please call (956) 423-0523.
