Red Cross Instructors

As of July 1, 2011, a number of changes designed to enhance the quality and value of our programs ans services as we continually strive to offer state-of-the art training courses and materials have been implemented. Specifically, these changes are:

  • Changes of fees to more market-based pricing that enables the Red Cross to recover our costs and support our mission

  • Newly revised programs in First Aid/CPR/AED, CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Healthcare Providers, Emergency Medical Response, and Lifeguarding-updated with the latest science and educational innovation methods.

  • Implementing the next generation of Red Cross training - with 2 year certification, free digital and downloadable materials and free digital refreshers for many of our courses through Instructor's Corner

  • Updates on Learning Management Center (SABA) to provide better and easier self-service access for instructors to manage course records and print certificates

  • Introduction of a ceentralized instructor and customer Training Support Center (TSC)- (1-800-733-2767) that will be responsible for:  Registering students/participants for scheduled community courses, setting up and scheduling Full Service/Contract Classes, review/approve course records entered by instructors on SABA/LMS, processing (physical) course records for all organization/instructors not submitted online-issuing certificates and questions/problems with logging into SABA/LMS.

    Please note: All course records submitted to the chapter will be faxed to the Training Support Center (TSC) on the instructors'/organizations' behalf. If billing, Purchase Order payment must accompany course record in order to be submitted. Once the Training Support Center (TSC) receives the course record, an email will be sent out to the instructor notifying them of receipt. In order to make sure you receive this confirmation, your information (email) in SABA/LMS MUST be updated. Once TSC has processed your course record, they will mail you your certificates, so please make sure notations of return address is correct.

Updating to New Material (FA/CPR/AED Revision 2011)

All FA/CPR/AED Red Cross instructors must update to the new teaching material through Instructor's Corner in order to be able to teach the newly updated marterial. Click here to view the instruction sheet on how to do the update. Once you complete the update on Instructor's Corner, you must log into SABA/LMS to complete your update. You must make sure to either purchase the new material- Instructor's manual, participants manual, the Refernce cards and DVD or you can download/live stream them from Instructor's Corner. All instructors teaching the FA/CPR/AED course must complete this update before December 31st, 2011 in order to keep and maintain your Instructor certificate.
